In advance of the launch of the 2012 Beetle, VW is offering a special, pre-order opportunity for 600 limited-edition turbo models. The 2012 Beetle Black Turbo is powered by a 200-bhp 2.0-liter turbo four and features a DSG twin-clutch gearbox.
Inside, gone is the playful instrument design, replaced with a more traditional styling theme. Optional for the first time in the VW Beetle is navigation, and a premium Fender audio system.
Just unveiled ahead of the 2011 New York Auto Show, the longer, wider and lower new Volkswagen Beetle is meant to “appeal to a broader audience worldwide.”

Spy photographers have captured images of the next generation New Beetle coupe undergoing road testing in Germany. A lower roofline and re-profiled tail offer hints that Volkswagen is planning to boost the retro appeal of the next Beetle, while also providing a welcome increase in usability and rear passenger comfort.
