Not Bad For a Tractor by Ed.Paparazzi
Lamborghini 400GT Convertible at the RM Auction in Monterey
Italdesign Giugiaro will display eleven vintage models at this year’s Techno Classica Essen.
Included are a triumvirate of VW models, such as the first-generation Passat (1973), Golf (1974) and Scirocco (1974). Also on display are a Seat Ibiza (1984), Audi 80 (1978), Lamborghini Gallardo (2002), and the still stunningly gorgeous Volkswagen W12 Nardò prototype (2001).
Do these selections fairly represent the show’s theme of “automotive milestones”?

…or felt so much like a prison.
Like its predecessor, the Aventador has a 60-degree V-12 with 6.5 liters of displacement (6498 cc), but rather than a square bore and stroke as in the Diablo and Murciélago, this new 518-lb. dry-sump engine has a 95.0-mm bore and a 76.4-mm stroke.
Like the earlier V-12s, it will like to rev. Even without direct injection, the quad-cam V-12 with variable valve timing and 4 valves per cylinder is still capable of 700 bhp at 8250 rpm and 509 lb.-ft. of torque at 5500 rpm, with fuel efficiency that’s better by a claimed 20 percent.
A launch control system promises to help the large new Lambo hit to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.9 seconds, and, when conditions permit, a top speed of 217 mph.
