2013 Ford Shelby GT500 Cobra — an 850 horsepower one-of-a-kind Cobra built to honor the late Carroll Shelby.
The 2013 Shelby GT350 will range from a 430-bhp natural aspirated version, to supercharged 525-bhp and tire-melting 624-bhp variants. Only 350 will be made.
What we do know is that the 2013 Shelby GT500 Convertible is going to be wild. Under the hood is a 5.8-liter V-8 coupled to an Eaton supercharger, which delivers a massive 650 bhp and 600 lb.-ft. of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels and shifting will be handled by a 6-speed manual transmission.
A major attraction to the 1967 Ford Mustang Convertible is an enlarged engine compartment that will accept—if just barely—Ford’s big block V-8s.
Blue Angel
In celebration of the U.S. Navy’s 100 years in aviation, Ford will be auctioning off a Blue Angels edition 2012 Ford Mustang GT.
In addition to interior and exterior modifications, performance has also been enhanced. The 5.0-liter V-8 found in the GT trim has a Ford Racing supercharger bolted up to it, bumping output to 624 bhp. A performance exhaust brings out the engine burble, and the handling pack and race track brakes, all Ford Racing parts, will improve lap times.
EDIT for therealromeo:
Our source was Ford’s press release, which said:
“Under the hood, the “Blue Angels” Mustang is all performance with a Ford Racing supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine producing 624 horsepower. The Ford Racing components also include a handling pack, performance exhaust and racetrack brakes.”
