2010 Ferrari 16M Scuderia Spider
With the 4.3-liter V-8 making 510 bhp at 8500 rpm and 347 lb.-ft. of torque at 5250 rpm, channeled through a 6-speed F1-Superfast2 gearbox that spits out shifts in just 60 milliseconds, 62 mph comes in a claimed 3.7 seconds. Top speed is 196 mph, at which point it is probably quite breezy in the cockpit.
The 2012 Jaguar XKR-S produces 550 bhp and 502 lb.-ft. of torque, thanks to a higher output version of the company’s supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 engine. According to Jaguar, the XKR-S can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 186 mph.
While there’s no word of whether the Rocketman concept will make it into production, the fact that Mini is considering such a vehicle is a welcome development for purists in light of recent introductions of larger and larger Minis in the form of the Clubman and Countryman.
