Is Mopar’s 2013 Dodge Dart GTS 210 Tribute a serious rival for the Ford Focus ST?
If you love the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque and also enjoy the color red, British tuner Afzal Kahn has come up with a tasteful take on the stylish British crossover.
231-mph four-passenger convertible
Brabus 800 E V12 Cabriolet: 6.3-liter V-12 making 788-bhp available at 5,500 rpm, and 1,047 lb-ft of torque (electronically limited to 811 lb-ft) that arrives at an incredibly low 1,100 rpm.
Swiss tuner, Mansory has developed a 640 bhp BMW 760Li capable of hitting 60 mph in 4.2 seconds helped in no short measure by the 678 lb.-ft. of torque the fettled engine produces.
Exterior upgrades include LED daytime running lights, a new carbon grille a roof spoiler and a rear apron designed to look like a diffuser. The car now rides on one-piece 22×10 inch rims with 265/35 and 295/30 rubber wear front and rear, respectively.
The Hennessey Venom 1000 Twin Turbo Viper can hit 0-200 mph in 20.3 seconds in less than three quarters of a mile.
Red light, green light - Spoon Sports CR-Z
Under the hood, Spoon took apart the 1.5-liter inline-4 and reassembled the i-VTEC powerplant with many of its own parts. The ECU was remapped, increasing redline from 6200 rpm to 8500, with more torque in the mid range.
The LFA’s front-mid-mounted V-10 is already a tightly coiled snake of an engine, ready to strike with 552 bhp generated near its 9000-rpm redline. The Nürburgring Package bumps this by 10 bhp, and quickens the already blazing shift speed too…the driver can now summon a shift via the steering wheel paddles in only 0.15 seconds, a reduction of 0.05 sec.
Brabus’ range of tuned diesel engines are getting the limelight with the introduction of the 2011 Brabus CLS Coupe.
In Sport mode, horsepower jumps from 261 bhp to 309 bhp, while torque receives a similar bump. Brabus says that this tuned turbodiesel is capable of sprinting from 0 to 62 mph in only 5.9 seconds. Top speed is limited to 155 mph.
Other cars might go faster in a straight line, yet almost nothing will out-corner the HKS-tuned Nissan GT-R R35.
It might lack the excitement of the world’s fastest sedan – or a utility van with a thumping V-8 engine – but Brabus has now become the first tuning house to build a tuner vehicle that meets strict Euro VI emissions standards. A Mercedes S 350 BlueTEC sedan, equipped with the Brabus ECO PowerXtra D6S performance kit, has already met these standards despite them not taking effect until 2014.
